MESSAGE FOR COMMENCEMENT OF OFFLINE CLASSES

Dear students, all conversations these days begin with enquiring about each others’ health and wishing each other a safe and healthy time. The work-from-home culture has had its benefits and shortcomings, whichever way one chooses to look at it. This is true for faculty like us as well as students like you.

However there is world –wide acknowledgment that peer interaction and peer-learning is an important part of student life. Most of you have missed this in the past 2 years. Now, with the permission granted by the State Administration and the MCGM we are once again ready to welcome you back to campus from 14th February onwards.

We are aware that it would be challenging for a few students to return back to campus immediately for several reasons including being COVID patients themselves and therefore following the mandatory quarantine period, taking care of near and dear ones who have tested positive, not being able to find suitable lodging-boarding facilities at a short notice, undergoing internships on the demand of the employer, and so on. We hope that they would be able to attend on-campus lectures in due course of time. However we would expect a large majority of the students to be double vaccinated and thereby eligible to attend college immediately.

The guidelines for students attending college from 14 February onwards are given below:

  • All lectures will be held in the hybrid mode which will benefit the students seated in the classroom as well as those who would log in remotely
  • All practicals will be held in the offline mode for all courses. For those who are unable to attend physically on account of the reasons enumerated above, additional practicals will be conducted for one week towards the end of the term. The class teachers will convey the dates and the time-table to such students.
  • All ILO lectures for BE students except for Environment Management will be held online and can be accessed from the college premises. Environment Management lectures would be delivered in hybrid mode from a physical class.
  • University rules will apply for the mode of conduct of Internal Assessment Test-2, practical exams, viva-voce and End Semester Exams.
  • All COVID related safety and hygiene protocols will be followed on campus.

  • We look forward to re-connecting with you all after a two year gap. Till then take care and stay safe.
