The session started with the objective and highlights of Consumer Protection Act. Rights and Obligations of a Consumer were explained in detailed by the speaker. The process of filing a complaint and dispute resolution was explained with the help of Three Tier Dispute Resolution Commissions system in place. One of the interesting discussion points was Misleading Advertisements. It was very enlightening to know that every common man holds the right to file a complaint against such advertisements.
A seminar on “Security and Demonstration of Security tools” was organized in Don Bosco Institute of Technology on 10 th September,2019. This session was from 11:15 am to 1:15 pm and was conducted by the guest Mr. Vicky Fernandese, who also is the alumni of DBIT, Mumbai. In today’s world, all the data is being stored digitally, therefore it has become an important task to have data security. Hence, to bring certain awareness and explain the security tools was the main objective of the session. We're in significant transformation regarding the way industry produce products thanks to the digitization of manufacturing. This transition is so compelling that it is being called Industry 4.0 to represent the fourth revolution that has occurred due to automation of high manufacturing, productivity, agriculture, digital communication, Information technology, surveillance, traffic controlling and marketing with improved quality in short period of time to attain flexible market needs.

A talk on the above topic was delivered by Retd. Wing Commander M. Jeyakumar, Founder and CEO of nROOT Consultancy, Thanjavur on 10 July 2019. The students from the Third year of Engineering of all branches were the beneficiaries. Mr. Jeyakumar shared his journey as an entrepreneur from making India’s first Indigenous Missile Simulator, to founding his own startup. He collaborates with staff and students of Engineering colleges to offer high quality and low cost import substitution for various defence and civilian projects across India. He told the students to contribute to aim high and contribute to Make in India initiative of the Government by working on creative and innovative ideas. His consultancy firm would be signing an MoU with DBIT for projects and product development
On July 30th, 2019, the Artificial Intelligence Club of the Department of Information Technology of Don Bosco Institute of Technology, hosted Facebook Developer Circles Mumbai – DevC Technology Conclave. The event was attended by 200+ students. The “DevC Technology Conclave” event started at 11am with a Welcome Note by the Head of the Department of Information Technology, Prof. Prasad Padalkar.
The Keynote speaker Mr. Dhanush Shah, started off by introducing The Facebook Developers Circle Community and as to how we all can contribute to the commuinity.
The next speaker, Mr. Harsh Vitra gave a talk on UI/UX. He concluded by showing some relevant videos.
The last speaker, Ms. Kajal Dalai gave a talk on React JS
