Don Bosco Institute of Technology, Kurla set a landmark in its nascent history when it established it’s Alumni Association. The evening of Sunday 11 June, 2006 saw an enthusiastic band of 36 ex DBITians and current graduating students gather in classroom no. 4 on the ground floor for the first General Body Meeting of DBIT Alumni.
The Director Fr. Mario Vaz, welcomed the alumni and appreciated their willingness to bond together under the banner of Don Bosco as they move ahead into their careers. He informed them of the World body of Don Bosco Past Pupils Association and encouraged them to live up to the ideals of Don Bosco alumni. On hand to assist at the fledgling birth of the association were Dr. S. Krishnamoorthy ex-principal of the College, presently Director of Research and Development and Mrs. R. Chandramouli Communications Professor and mentor of the students.
The highlight of the meeting was the election of the office bearers for the Association. A seven member committee was elected unanimously. The student members are: Mr. Swaroop Shere, Mr. Anand V, Mr. Shadab Khan, Mr. Ojas Doshi, Mr. Sijo Pappachan, Mr. Marwin C and Mr. Savio M.
The Director would be the Salesian delegate animating this unit and the link to the Don Bosco Past Pupils Association. The Principal of DBIT would be the ex-officio Chairperson of the Association. Dr. S. Krishnamoorthy gave several valuable suggestions in setting norms structures and activities. Mr. Anandraj conducted the proceedings and brought it to a close at 6pm.
